July 1992 to February 2000

What was your job title(s) and what did you do at Microware?
I started as an Associate Software Engineer, then moved into training as a Training Engineer, then went on to become a Senior Software Engineer. I worked on FasTrak, developed training courses and taught them, and worked on numerous other projects.

What is your most interesting or vivid memory of Microware?
There are many, but the most vivid memory was when I arrived at the Microware building in June 1992 for my interview. As a kid who cut his teeth on OS-9 for the Color Computer, I felt I had arrived at "Mecca."

What were some of your favorite times at Microware?
No specific ones come to mind; I enjoyed the people and the atmosphere, and have yet to find a company since that has the same allure that Microware offered.

Have any experiences, skills, or habits that you picked up at Microware made an impact on your life? Please share them with us.
The overall work experience that I garnered at Microware has served me well. I also consider my experience as a trainer to be valuable; it gave me the confidence and ability to speak to a crowd, and ignited a love of teaching that I have to this day.

What was your reason for leaving Microware?
Martin Long called me one day and gave me an ultimatum: either move to Des Moines or find another job.

What have you been doing career-wise since Microware?
After leaving Microware, I started my own embedded consulting business where I worked on some very interesting projects. I am currently a full-time student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I am finishing up my Computer Science degree. I still play around with the OS-9 and CoCo for fun and profit. Tell us about your family: spouse, significant others, kids, pets, etc.
Toni and I have been married for 3 years. I have two stepdaughters, Hope who is 19 and Heidi who is 15. Sam is our baby: he's a black and smoke grey persian cat.

their email addresses?

I'm in regular contact with the "CoCo" crowd that once worked at Microware, including Allen Huffman, James Jones, Eric Crichlow, Joel Hegberg and Chet Simpson.
