2. What was the timeframe you worked at Microware?

March 1997 - April 2000

3. What was your job title(s) and what did you do at Microware?

Development manager for Wireless OS-9

Project Manager

Development manager for the network group

Development manager for the SH product team

Director of Professional Services

I spent my time at Microware leading various teams and development efforts, like the Penny project, IrDA for Wireless OS-9, and tools integration. I think I also spent more time than I knew pissing off the VP of Marketing. Oh well.…

4. What is your most interesting or vivid memory of Microware?

Playing "You Don't Know Jack" for the first time in Kim Kempf's office late one Friday afternoon and laughing my ass off.

5. What were some of your favorite times at Microware?

See #4. Also participating in the reorganization into product teams.

6. Have any experiences, skills, or habits that you picked up at Microware made an impact on your life? Please share them with us.

I learned what little I know of managing, as opposed to being a technical lead, at Microware. It wasn't always fun. Learning to fire people, for example, wasn't a great experience.

7. What was your reason for leaving Microware?

Frustration there and a new opportunity elsewhere.

8. What have you been doing career-wise since Microware?

I spent 2 years at SNAP2. Since they laid off their management team in June of 2002, I have dabbled in network marketing, car sales, and leading a life of leisure.

9. Tell us about your family: spouse, significant others, kids, pets, etc.

I remarried in August of 2002. My wife, Dagny Fidler, is currently the Vice Principal of Ruby Van Meter School for the handicapped in Des Moines. She is a true luddite when it comes to computers, so, I figure she needs me ;-)

10. Please attach up to three pictures of yourself, family, pets, and etc. to appear in the Reunion Highlights DVD. We prefer .jpg and .gif images.

11. Do you ever see other former Microware employees and do you have their email addresses?
