Western Regional Manager Manager without Portfolio Vice President of R&D EVP & General Manager of Core Technologies SBU Chief Technology Officer I managed technical project and groups most of the time. Managed relationships with IBM and Motorola wireless groups. Also did a little marketing, sales, programming, facilities maintenance, counseling and therapy. 4. What is your most interesting or vivid memory of Microware? Free lunch Close family atmosphere, a talented diverse bunch of people Andy Ball stabbing me in the back about PowerPC while I was on vacation Bud Berry's antics during Board of Director meetings The run up to the IPO The shock and sadness when K.D. Roth was killed 5. What were some of your favorite times at Microware? The parties and anniversary celebrations The 1st West Coast Office Christmas party Losing a bet with R&D and getting my head shaved and washing everybody's car. 6. Have any experiences, skills, or habits that you picked up at Microware made an impact on your life? Please share them with us. Coming to Microware from a large company I learned that corporate politics is alive and well in small companies. 7. What was your reason for leaving Microware? I had been there 10 years and for me that was long enough for any job. 8. What have you been doing career-wise since Microware? I'm semi-retired. I do some business and technical consulting. Lots of fishing. For the last year I've been organizing a reunion of former Microware employees. When this is over I intend to organize a boycott of the RIAA. 9. Tell us about your family: spouse, significant others, kids, pets, etc. Laurie and I will celebrate our 24th anniversary this November. Laurie is a project manager at Wells Fargo. Mike Jr. is in college and lives in Minneapolis. Jon goes to Valley High School and is active at the Playhouse and Ingersoll Dinner Theater.
